Wavecom SA (Nasdaq: WVCM; Nouveau Marché: 7306), a leading developer of digital wireless standard modules (WISMO®), announced that it has signed a contract with ASE Telecom Co., Ltd. (ASE) of South Korea.

Under this contract, Wavecom is to supply WISMO Pac P3103B modules for ASE's new series of GSM/GPRS mobile phones targeting the Chinese market. ASE is the first South Korean mobile telephone maker to use WISMO Pac, Wavecom's super-compact GSM/GPRS solution for PDA and mobile telephone manufacturers.

WISMO Pac dual band modules are fully integrated devices offering a complete range of GSM/GPRS voice and data options in a single component. They measure 45 mm x 32.5 mm x 5 mm and weigh only 11 grams, making them the most compact GSM/GPRS solution available anywhere.

The new APG-Series phones feature a 256-colour screen, 16 Poly melodies and a dual LCD, together with data and fax transmission capability and a bi-lingual (English and Chinese languages) support.
