Signal Analyzer Performs WCDMA FDD Measurements

The Signal Analyzer FSIQ from Rohde & Schwarz is now equipped to perform all important WCDMA FDD measurements. It provides the mobile radio standards of the generations 2, 2.5 and 3 in a single unit. Rohde & Schwarz has equipped its Signal Analyzer FSIQ with additional measurement functions for this particular mobile radio standard. The instrument is now not only able to perform all important WCDMA FDD measurements on base stations, but also on the terminals. The FSIQ strictly complies with the requirements of the 3GPP standard.

An important new application is the determination of the power in the individual code channels of a 3GPP FDD signal. By determining the code domain power, the FSIQ includes all the subscriber channels in its measurements and checks the power ratios between the individual channels. Precise power control of the individual subscriber channels is vital for optimal utilization of the radio channel resources. The FSIQ displays the power characteristic in a mobile radio channel versus all the timeslots of a frame. The new FSIQ firmware supports all measurements in the code domain and provides comprehensive functionality for code domain analysis.
