Thyristor Surge Protection Device

Mon, 03/18/2002 - 5:59am
Tyco Electronics Power Components/Raychem Circuit Protection Division introduces its new TVAxxxSA series of SiBar® surge protection devices. With a 30% smaller footprint than the existing TVBxxxSA series devices, the new components are designed for network cards with increased port densities and help provide protection against power faults and lightning surges in customer premise equipment (CPE), central office (CO), access network equipment and other intrabuilding communications applications.

The TVAxxxSA devices help designers meet UL1950 Third Edition and FCC Part 68 specifications and ITU-T K.20/21/45 standards for CPE, CO and access network equipment. Providing off-state voltage ratings of 170 V, 200 V, and 250 V, the devices are applicable for CPE equipment with maximum DC plus ringing voltages up to 270 V peak. SiBar TVAxxxSA devices are rated at 50 A under a 10/1000-μs waveform.
