VCO for Digital Microwave Radio

Z-Communications introduced the V910ME02 for demanding digital microwave radio applications. The V910ME02 is guaranteed to generate frequencies between 4245 and 4335 MHz within 0.5 to 8 V DC of control. At this frequency range, this VCO provides a pure spectral signal of – 87 dBc/Hz, typically, at 10 kHz from the carrier while attenuating the second harmonic to better than – 13 dBc. The V910ME02 is sure to benefit any PLL design by delivering a quiet signal source along with excellent harmonic suppression.

Optimizing any digital microwave radio, the V910ME02 achieves a 1.1:1 linearity over frequency and temperature while minimizing power consumption by drawing only 16 mA, typically, and operating from a 5 V DC supply. The V910ME02 further provides the end user with 0 ± 2 dBm of output power into a 50 Ω load and can handle any rugged environment by operating over an extreme temperature range from – 40°C to 85°Cs. Furthermore, this inexpensive oscillator is enhance by pulling less than 10 MHz from a 14 dB return loss, any phase, and pushes less than 5 MHz/V within a 5% change of the nominal supply voltage.

The V910ME02 comes in Z-Communications' industry standard MINI surface mount package measuring 0.50 × 0.50 × 0.22. This VCO is ideal for automated surface mount assembly and reflow; it is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements.
