The LTC5505-x integrates a temperature compensated Schottky diode peak detector and buffer amplifier in a tiny 1 mm profile 5-lead ThinSOT package. The RF input voltage is peak detected and supplied to the VOUT pin. The LTC5505-1 operates with input power levels from 28 dBm to 18 dBm. The LTC5505-2 operates with lower input power level (higher sensitivity) from 32 dBm to 12 Bm. Each consumes 500 μA of supply current and operates from 2.7 V to 6 V of supply voltage. A power saving shutdown mode reduces supply current to less than 2 μA.

Linear Technology Corporation introduces the LTC5505-1 and LTC5505-2 RF power detectors in ThinSOT packages with >40 dB dynamic range for 300 MHz to 3 GHz applications. Each requires 60% of the PCB space needed by a discrete design, consumes 9 times less supply current, and compared to integrated solutions, minimizes system design iteration with the factory guaranteed precision RF parameter limits and temperature compensated performance. Applications include wireless data modems, wireless local loop and broadband systems, as well as multimode cell phones and wireless infrastructure.
