Spread-Spectrum Transceivers

Thu, 02/21/2002 - 5:14am
AeroComm introduces its family of industrial-temperature 2.4 GHz frequency-hopping spread-spectrum transceivers. The AC3124 line is specifically designed to withstand hostile environments, allowing for year-round outdoor as well as indoor operation at temperatures of -40 to +80 C. AC3124 will replace costly, bulky wiring to applications such as telemetry, SCADA in oil and water management, and process monitoring in environmentally severe facilities.

AC3124 goes much further than offering industrial temperature capability. The modules meet stringent requirements sought after by OEMs such as small size, simple integration, long range, low power consumption and efficient data throughput. Data rates up to 115.2 Kbps provide ample speed for most industrial applications. And because AC3124 transceivers are based on AeroComm's proprietary FHSS technology, they are highly resistant to interference and security breaches.

As the smallest and most power efficient in their industrial category, AC3124s are perfect for integration into both portable devices and stationary applications. OEMs can choose a short-range power-efficient 10mW version for battery-powered products, and a higher-power 200mW version for miles of outdoor range. To facilitate smooth design integration and provide flexibility for different applications, all AC3124s have identical dimensions, connectors and software interfaces for interchangeability. The transceivers operate in point-to-point or point-to-multipoint client/server architecture.
