Point-to-Point Wireless Kits

Agere Systems announced the availability of the ORiNOCO™ Point-to-Point Radio Backbone Kit that makes it easier and more affordable to connect to buildings up to six miles apart with a high-speed (11 Mbps) point-to-point wireless network. By using the Point-to-Point Radio Backbone Kit, businesses no longer have to invest in expensive leased or T1 lines, or set up microwave towers, to provide secure, high-speed connectivity between locations.

The Radio Backbone Kit includes all the components and support required to set up a wireless link. It contains two OR-500 Radio Backbone Termination Nodes, two Yagi antennas and all the required cables and accessories. It also includes a simple-to-follow, step-by-step installation guide, which will allow network technicians to set up the link in less than a day. Pre-configured and pre-certified by the factory, the Radio Backbone Kit operates in the unlicensed 2.4 GHz band and requires no additional governmental certification.

The Point-to-Point Radio Backbone Kit features Adaptive Dynamic Polling Protocol that enables more reliable wireless links in RF noisy environments by creating and maintaining a master/slave link between the two OR-500 units. Continuous Signal Quality Monitoring eases diagnostic troubleshooting and system management through remote testing of RF signal levels, noise levels and signal quality. The Point-to-Point Radio Backbone Kit is also more than just a simple bridge. It provides built-in routing functions that eliminate the need for a separate router at the remote location.

In addition, as the OR-500 Radio Backbone Termination Node is compatible with the ORiNOCO OR-1000 Remote Outdoor Router and OR-1100 Central Outdoor Router systems making it possible to expand your outdoor network without replacing all of your equipment.
