High Current Feedthru Capacitors For EMI Suppression

Technology leader AVX Corporation's Advanced Product Group offers a new series of miniature ceramic chip components that combine capacitor and inductor elements in a single distributed constant circuit filter. Designated the W2H/W3H Series, these surface mountable chip filters are the latest addition to AVX's series of integrated passive components for EMI noise suppression in high-speed applications. This series of filters represents an ideal choice for EMI noise suppression, broadband I/O filtering or Vcc power line conditioning.

Other applications for the EMI filter chips include PA decoupling, DC/DC converters, power supervisory circuits, digital to RF filtering, telecom, portable electronics and automotive functions, Demcko added.

Offered in 0805 and 0612 case sizes, the W2H/W3H Series of EMI filters are available in 25V, 50V and 100V voltage ratings with capacitance ratings ranging from 22pF to 100,000pF. Featuring capacitance tolerances of +50/-20%, these EMI filters feature DC resistance ratings of < 0.15?. Current ratings range from 0.5A to 5A. Available in NP0 and X7R dielectrics, these feedthru capacitors feature a standard operating temperature range of -55° to +125° C. Available in standard tape and reel packaging, the W2H/W3H Series filters are compatible with high-speed automated assembly equipment and wave and reflow soldering methods.
