Microchip Technology announced the MCP602X family of op amps for low current, high-performance applications. The MCP602X, rail-to-rail input and output op amps, offer designers a cost-effective way to improve performance and increase the operational life of battery powered systems for audio processing, communications, test and medical equipment applications.

The MCP6021, MCP6022, MCP6023 and MCP6024 op amps offer rail-to-rail input and output that allows the full voltage supply range to be useful from 5.5-volt down to 2.5-volt voltage supply operation. The MCP6021 (single), MCP6022 (dual) and MCP6024 (quad) devices meet industry standard pin-outs in standard PDIP, SOIC and TSSOP packages.

Featuring unity gain stability with a gain bandwidth product (GBWP) of 10 MHz, low noise (8.7 nV/rtHz) and a maximum quiescent current (IQ) of 1.35 microamps (mA), the devices can be used without costly, stabilizing circuitry. The low offset voltage reduces this need for off-setting components while achieving low power consumption, minimizing board-space usage and lessening design time and component cost. Consideration of these areas of high-performance specifications, make the MCP602X devices ideal for driving analog to digital converters (ADCs), buffering digital to analog converters (DACs) and barcode scanning applications

The devices are fully specified from -40°C to +85°C and have a typical IQ of 1.0 mA that will extend battery life over traditional 10 MHz op amps.
