Sensor for Magnetic Three-Axis Solution
Both the HMC1051Z and the HMC1052 have a sensitivity of 1 mV/V/Gauss, a wide field range up to ± 6 gauss, resolution of 120 microgauss and can operate on a supply voltage as low as 1.8 V. Patented on-chip set/reset straps eliminate the effects of temperature drift and stray magnetic fields to ensure accuracy and reliability. They come in a small 8-Pin SIP and 10-Pin MSOP packages.
For compassing and position sensing applications requiring ultra small size, low power and high performance, the HMC1052 is a more cost-effective solution. The HMC1052 is a two-axis sensor ideal for handheld wireless appliance applications such as location based services in mobile phones, compassing and Global Positioning (GPS) applications in personal digital assistants, walkie talkies, watches and GPS receivers. Advantages of this new patented design include nearly perfect orthogonal two-axis sensing in a 3 mm × 3 mm × 1mm 10-pin miniature surface mount package (MSOP). Now with this new sensor, Honeywell provides a way to have a miniature, cost effective three-axis magnetic sensing approach.
