Ericsson Microelectronics' announces the worlds first 90% efficient, fully independent, 110W dual output half-brick DC/DC power module. This unit addresses applications requiring well-regulated 5 V and 3.3 V outputs. The module offers a low power loss solution for demanding 48 V input applications.
The PKJ 4128 PIT dual-output, half-brick DC/DC power module is an ideal choice for a broad range of information technology and telecom applications where conserving space and high efficiencies are priorities. The PKJ 4128 PIT module offers 3.3 V respectively 5V output at 12 A/15 A respectively, delivering a total output power of 110W. Each output channel is completely independent of the other so the user has 110W of power available at any time. The dual output version includes individually regulated outputs with tight regulation in the same mechanical size as the industry-standard dual half-brick.
Designed using synchronous rectification and patented thermal management techniques, the dual-output module benefits from exceptional thermal properties and is typically 90% efficient. Minimizing heat generation contributes to a mean time between failure (MTBF) in excess of 3 million hours and allows the PKJ 4000 series to operate in high ambient temperatures with low airflow and without a heat sink. For more demanding environments and system flexibility, the standard baseplate supports an optional heat sink.
The dual half-brick module features over-voltage protection, over-temperature protection, current limit protection, output voltage adjust and local on/off, under voltage detection, remote on/off, and individual output voltage adjustments.
Recognizing the need to address safety-critical and environmental issues, the PKJ 4000 series complies with the requirements of EMC specifications such as EN55022 and EN61000. The series also conforms to EN60950 with 1500 Vdc isolation and meets the Basic Isolation Requirements, the low voltage directive 73/23/EEC and carries UL and ULc approvals. The modules are manufactured in ISO9000 approved production facilities and come with a five year warranty.
The PKJ 4000 series also includes models with single output voltages ranging from 1.5 V to 12 V, at up to 30 A output current (150 W power limited).
