Temperature Monitoring System

The AD7314 is a complete temperature monitoring system in an 8-lead micro-SOIC package. With its bandgap temperature sensor and 10-bit ADC, it is capable of monitoring and digitizing the temperature reading to a resolution of 0.25°C.

A flexible serial interface, compatible with SPI, QSPI and MICRO-WIRE™ protocols, allows the AD7314 to easily interface to DSPs and most micro-controllers. Low supply current makes it ideal for a variety of applications, including personal computers, office equipment, and consumer electronics. Other features include an on-chip temperature sensor that allows a ± 2°C temperature accurate measurement over a temperature range from -35°C to 85°C, a supply voltage range of 2.65 V to 2.9 V and a space saving 8-lead micro-SOIC package. Additionally, the standby mode feature further reduces the current consumption to 1 μ maximum.

The AD7314 is most suited to portable and battery operated applications where low power and low voltages are the key. Such applications include mobile phones, consumer electronics, PCs and process control equipment.
