SAW Based Recovery Modules

Micro Networks has developed a series of clock and data (CDR) modules using phase-lock loop architecture and a high stability, low-nose SAW VCO to provide extremely low jitter clock and data outputs for SONET applications.

The M830/831 series of CDR modules builds on Micro Networks' world leading capability in low phase noise and jitter performance to regenerate the spectral component from an incoming NRZ data stream and output a low jitter clock and retimed complementary data. Typical data output jitter at 12.25 Gb/s is less than 8 ps p-p. The new M830/831 modules are ideal for SONET OC-192 and SDH system applications.

The M830/831 series is available in 9.953, 10.66 and 12.24 Gbit modules featuring 0.9 Vp-p complementary data outputs, a low noise and spurious recovered clock output, 200 mV p-p input sensitivity, optional adjustable bias at data input to decision circuit, and externally adjustable decision threshold and clock phase shift.
