UNIPOWER Telecom has introduced its new Gravitas Ranger 400 computer-telephony integrated power system, he most dense and space-effective such system available today. The system comes in several versions which are expandable to meet the growing needs of small and medium installations. The system comes in a standard seven foot, free-standing cabinet.

The Gravitas Ranger 400 has a maximum output capacity of 400 amperes at 48 VDC or 800 amperes at 24 VDC. It incorporates up to eight high-density, hot-swap rectifier modules; each module produces 50 A at 54.4 VDC or 100 A at 27.2 VDC. They operate form a 170 to 240 VAC single or three-phase power source at 45-65 Hz. At slightly less output current, 350 A at 54.4 V or 700 A at 27.2 V, the system can be operated with N+1 redundancy.

The complete system consists of two rectifier shelves with up to 8 rectifier modules, up to six battery trays, optional AC breakers for each rectifier module, a control and monitoring system, a low voltage disconnect and a DC circuit breaker distribution panel with up to 20 breakers.

The battery bank has the capacity to operate a 350 A power system for up to two hours after loss of AC power. Each battery tray also incorporates a battery isolation switch to allow easy battery maintenance without compromising system integrity.

The Gravitas Battery Plant System is readily expandable to up to three cabinets producing 1,050 Amps of 48 VDC, using a single controller. The units have top or bottom cable entry and exit, and all installation and maintenance work is carried out from the front of the cabinet.
