BNC Connector

Mon, 09/24/2001 - 4:51am
Trompeter Electronics announced the addition of a new miniature BNC connector that allows for 40 percent greater connector density in a given area. Designed for telco Central Office DS3 applications, the new 250 Series (M-BNC) delivers excellent frequency response over an extended bandwidth and uses industry standard installation tools.

An extension of Trompeter's flagship UPL220 series BNC's, this new miniature BNC features true 75 ohm impedance throughout the entire frequency range of DS3 products, and delivers outstanding return loss performance. Special design features include fully enclosed beryllium copper spring fingers, 0.000050 inches thick gold plated beryllium copper center contacts with plating weep hole, a nail head feature with tapered lead-in for center wire, and positive tactile feedback upon engaging with the dielectric. Dielectrics are made of solid PTFE (Teflon™) and a unique ferrule design with tapered lead end for proper braid positioning and high cable retention. In addition, the M-BNC includes a rear view indicator for visual inspection to ensure proper alignment and full engagement in the jack.

The UPL250 series includes straight and right angle plugs, bulkhead cable jacks, straight and right angle PCB mounted jacks, all of which are available in both nickel and gold plated versions.
