Plug-In Switch Card

Racal Instruments announces the introduction of the new model 1260-116 High-Density Plug-In Switch Card, providing engineers with a customizable switching platform capable of simultaneously switching power, stimulus, and response signals. Based on the popular 1260-16 design, the new Model 1260-116 is a 24 channel, Form C, Single-Pole Double-Throw (SPDT) Switch card ideal for general purpose switching and control of external devices. Designed for use I either the Adapt-a-Switch™ 1260-100, VXI carrier, or the 1256, GPIB/RS-232 Switching Mainframe, the 1260-116's plug-in design enables rapid switch card expansion and replacement, while the easily configured relays facilitate user-specific test configurations.

Recognizing the user's need to switch power, stimulus, and response signals while performing tests, Racal's latest switch-card design enables engineers to execute all three operations simultaneously. 1260-116 users may additionally configure tailored relay switch networks using only some of the available relays while reserving all remaining channels for continued independent operation, Each channel of the 1260-116 plug-in card switched up to 5 A and 30 VDC or 250 VAC rms. This 5 A capacity makes it ideal for controlling external devices such as motors or loads and for use in high-current switching of AC and DC power supplies or current sources.

As part of Racal's Adapt-a-Switch line, the Model 1260-116 includes drivers for LabWindow/CVI and LabVIEW for VXI applications. It is programmable via GPIB commands when used with Racal's 1256 Switching System. It also includes VXI plus & play compliant support for Windows 95/98/NT/2000 platforms. Racal Instruments actively supports the 1260-116, as well as all of its ATE systems, with a globally integrated field service network.
