FM Stereo Transmitter Designed For LPFM And Community Broadcast

Mon, 07/16/2001 - 5:47am
Ramsey Electronics announces availability of the PX1 35W FM Stereo Transmitter/Exciter. This new transmitter has been designed to meet the needs of LPFM and community broadcasters worldwide. It is also appropriate for use as an exciter for higher power broadcast stations. An 8X oversampled stereo generator with true analog filters throughout is key to its clean, refreshing sound image. The RF transmitter chain employs generously rated components for a trouble-free long life, the power amplifier is both over-temperature and VSWR protected.

Set-up and use are simple and straightforward. A simple 5-button user interface gives the user access to all operating parameters and adjustments. The two-line vacuum florescent display provides "at-a-glance" verification of all parameters as well as easy set-up screens. Operation of the PX1 is so easy, many users won't even open the operating manual. Automatic VSWR protection ensures maximum power into any antenna situation that may develop such as ice or elements broken due to wind. The PX1's microprocessor continuously monitors, and makes subtle adjustments to various circuit parameters based upon frequency, temperature, power, audio level, and deviation.

The PX1 is designed for world wide service, and operates on 110 or 240 VAC power. Automatic battery back-up (like a UPS) is standard, and ideal for areas with questionable power, a standard automobile battery is seamlessly switched in if main power is lost. The PX1 can also run on 12VDC for remote or emergency operation.
