Discrete Integration

Tue, 07/31/2001 - 4:30am
ON Semiconductor introduced the NZMM7V0T4, the first in a family of products that integrate discrete components into a single low-pass filter to solve Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) issues facing the designers of advanced wireless communication devices.

The ON Semiconductor NZMM7V0T4 Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) filter works as an integrated-filter array that significantly reduces the component count and the required printed-circuit board space that isn't possible with traditional techniques such as ferrite beads, feed-through capacitors or Pi and Tee filters.

ON Semiconductor's unique integration technology and advanced packaging techniques enable the NZMM7V0T4 to replace up to 48 discrete components in applications that require filters comprised of resistors, capacitors and zener diodes.

As consumer demand increases for competitively priced wireless communications devices with increased functionality, engineers face the difficult task of fitting an increasing number of faster, smaller and noise-sensitive Integrated Circuits (ICs) into ever-shrinking design space. ON Semiconductor solves these design issues by using standard IC manufacturing processes to deliver a low-cost family of Discrete Integration (DI) devices.
