The PACKBME device terminates the 2 data lines for the keyboard or mouse port and is a low cost, single chip solution. CAMD's technology is silicon-based and its quality and reliability matches that of today's integrated circuits. By integrating resistors, capacitors, and diodes on silicon, this device achieves termination, filtering and ESD protection of a keyboard / mouse port. The integration of all these components provide significant savings in cost and board space while enhancing the system's performance. The PACKBME is available in a compact, surface-mount SOT23-6 package.

California Micro Devices Corporation (CAMD) announced the PACTMKBME, a keyboard or mouse filter for use in computers. Using CAMD's patented P/Active technology, this device provides EMI / RFI filtering, termination, and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection that exceeds IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4 international standard. The PACKBME is able to protect the computer system from accidental damage caused by ESD to 30kV contact discharge.
