Dual System GPS Line

Thu, 06/28/2001 - 7:33am
Antenna Specialists, an Allen Telecom company, is expanding its Tele-Locator™ line of dual-system GPS antennas to include 3 dBd gain roof top mounting options for 800 and 900 MHz trunking. Model series ASP-1860TGPS combines active GPS location identification with broadband trunking for complete frequency coverage without tuning.

The ASP-1860TGPS series features a 5/8 wavelength upper whip over 1/4 wave lower section delivering 3 dBd (5dBi) omnidirectional gain for trunking frequencies. The antenna may be installed using an existing 3/4 inches hole. A weatherproof ultrasonic seal and O-ring at the mount interface protect against extreme weather conditions.

Frequency ranges are 806-869 MHz (ASPA1860TGPS) and 890-960 MHz (ASPG1860TGPS) along with the 1575.42 ± 5 MHz GPS frequency band. VSWR is < 2:1 for trunking and <1.5:1 for GPS. The trunking bands have vertical polarization, are omnidirectional and can handle up to 10 watts of power. GPS coverage has a typical 27 dB gain, RHCP polarization, and handles up to 1 watt of power.

The ASP-1860TGPS series comes with 15 ft (4.6 M) of PRO-FLEX™ PLUS low loss cable and a TNC male connector for trunking installations, along with 15 ft (4.6 M) RG-174/U cable with a SMA male connector attached for GPS.
