Broadband RF Power MOSFET

Thu, 06/28/2001 - 7:33am
Motorola has introduced a Broadband RF Power MOSFET optimized for 1.0 GHz base station applications — the MRF9002R2.

The MRF9002R2 is single-ended device that is fully characterized and individually tuned to operate at the 960 MHz frequency band and is to be used in Class AB for 26 volt base station equipment.

The MRF9002R2 is an array of three 2 watt transistors in a single, surface mountable 16-pin Power Flat Pack (PFP-16) package. The configuration enables the use of a transistor individually or in parallel with another in the package for increased total output power.

The PFP-16 is a high-power surface mount package with two rows of eight leads and an exposed plated copper slug. The PFP-16 package gives excellent thermal performance through a solderable backside contact.
