VM Series of Vector Modulators

Fri, 04/06/2001 - 5:21am

LISTED UNDER:

Alpha Industries has introduced the VM series of vector modulators. These eight-chip, BGA packages solutions can be easily integrated into base station MCPA applications to increase bandwidth efficiency and support high-speed data transmission for 2.5G systems. The vector modulator offers 360 ° of phase control and a large linear amplitude adjustment range.

With the new VM multi-chip module platform, mixed technologies can be integrated in the same package to produce high-performance products that cover AMPS through WCDMA. Typical performance characteristics include < 15 dB insertion loss, 10 dB of phase amplitude adjustment range and > 40 dB of maximum attenuation. Devices can be optimized for Input Third Order Intercepts of > 40 dB with switching speeds of < 5 μ sec or fast switching speeds of < 10 nsec Input Third Order Intercepts of > 22 dB markets.

The new VM series of BGA multi-chip modules joins Alpha's extensive line of RF, Microwave and Millimeterwave GaAs ICs, discrete semiconductor devices, and passive components engineered for wireless telephony and satellite, instrumentation, defense, and other communications markets.
