Silicon RFIC Upconverter for Applications to 2.5 GHz

New from NEC and available now from California Eastern Labs is the versatile UPC8172TB upconverter. Designed for use in the transmit chain, it combines low power consumption, high output power and high linearity with operation to 2.5 GHz. A Power Save feature helps preserve battery life in portable designs like cell phones, but it's also suitable for upconversion in WLAN, WBA and other applications. Performance specifications include an I circuit current of 9 mA an I in power save less than 1 μ A, a conversion gain of 9 dB, an output power of 0 dBm and a supply voltage of 3 V.

The UPC8172TB is manufactured using NEC's latest 25 GHz f UHSO Silicon Bipolar process. This process employs direct silicon nitride passivation film and gold electrodes resulting in excellent performance, consistency and reliability. The UPC8172TB is housed in a miniature 6-pin SOT-363 package and available on tape and reel for high volume automated assembly.
