MMDS (Wireless TV) Bandpass Filter Reduces Interference

Mon, 04/30/2001 - 6:15am
Model 6503-MDS passes MDS Channels 1 and 2 while suppressing the MMDS band. The filter is used to suppress interference on wireless signal booster stations.

Passband is 2.150 to 2.162 GHz with less than 0.5 dB insertion loss. Return loss is greater than 20 dB. The MMDS band (2.5 to 2.686 MHz) is suppressed by 30 dB. The bandpass filter is frequently used in pairs at the input and output of an MDS relay station. When used at the input the filter stops reception and retransmission of MMDS signals. When used on an MDS amplifier output the filter suppresses intermodulation and spurious emissions generated in the MDS amplifier.

Connectors are 50 ohm, type N. The filter measures 3 × 3 × 15 inches and weighs one pound.
