Compact PCI Components and Accessories Product Family

Bivar, Inc. has introduced a complete compact PCI (cPCI™) components and accessories product family, fully compliant to IEEE 1101.10 and PICMG 2.0 specifications. Aimed at fast-growing compact PCI applications in the electronic enclosure, printed circuit, computer, datacom/telecom, industrial control, security and test and measurement markets, the new component line provides increased design flexibility for OEMs. With the new cPCI line, OEMs can immediately adapt existing and new designs with cPCI components rather than using less flexible system-based solutions as offered by the majority of PCI suppliers.

The new cPCI family features a wide selection of Card Guides, Assemblies, Locking and Hot Swap Ejectors, Solder Side Covers, Transition Guides, Faceplate Handles and accessories, providing virtually every component needed for cPCI design. Among the first of the many products to be released in the cPCI family are the new CPCI-2000™ Universal Snap-in Card Guides which utilize industry standard extrusions requiring no proprietary rails for installation, allowing fast and easy snap-in mounting. (Conductive inserts provide for ESD, Hot Swap and Polarity keying with 6U and 3U cards of both 4HP and 8HP widths.) Manufactured from UL rated 94V-0, Natural, ABS material, the new guides are available in Red or Natural (off-white) colors for easy identification of systems slot.

A second important product in the extensive family is the CPCI-E2™ Series Locking Ejector for Compact PCI Assemblies. Smaller and lighter than any other similar products on the market, the E-2 Locking Ejector is uniquely designed both in function and form, providing innovative positive locking with simple push-button release while fully supporting ESD contact and Hot Swap capabilities.
