Additional Frequencies for Surface Mount Planar Antenna
Mon, 04/30/2001 - 6:15am
A planar antenna from Linx Technologies is now available in two additional frequency ranges. This antenna utilizes a proprietary grounded-line technique to extract performance from a small surface mount antenna. Dubbed the "Splatch," the antenna is highly immune to proximity effects, making it ideally suited to handheld applications such as remote controls, pagers, and alert devices. The stable grounded-line design allows performance to be obtained by designers lacking previous RF experience. The antenna's SMD package is appropriate for reflow or hand attachment. The antenna measures 1.1 L × 5 W × .062 H and exhibits a 50 ohm characteristic impedance and a VSWR of less than 1.9. The "Splatch" is available in a full range of standard frequencies within the 300 MHz to 1 GHz range.
