DC-DC Converter Module

Wed, 02/21/2001 - 11:04am
The first selection of pre–defined modules in Vicor's new 24V input family of 2nd Generation high power density DC–DC converters is now available. These modules are designed for communications, process control, defense, and distributed power systems applications. All of the converters operate from 24V nominal input (with an input range of 18V to 36V) and have power densities up to 79W/cubic inch. These DC–DC converter modules use 2nd Generation power processing, control, and packaging technologies for higher performance, lower profile, and reduced part count.

The 24V input family of DC–DC converters is suitable for worldwide use is a variety of applications.

The pre–defined 24V family consists of Maxi and Micro package sizes offering output voltages of 3.3, 5, 12, 15, and 28Vdc. The family offers output powers from 100 to 400 Watts. Additional output voltages and power can be specified using VDAC (Vicor Design Assistance Computer). All of the modules incorporate the same advanced features as other 2nd generation converters, such as high temperature rating, wide output voltage trim range, and paralleling for higher power and N M redundancy.
