Cellular/PCS Antenna

Tue, 02/13/2001 - 9:48am
Antenna Specialists, an Allen Telecom company, has developed a small footprint cellular/PCS "On-Glass"® antenna as an alternative to the higher gain, larger style dual-bands. The APDM927 series dual-band antennas provide 3 dBd (5 dBi) cellular and unity (2 dBi) PCS gain yet has a flexible foot small enough to fit between defroster wires.

Based on a patented high performance coupling box that maximizes signal efficiency, the APDM927 uses a unique whip design to achieve inphase signal transmission and reception using two colinear elements at both frequencies. The stainless steel whip stand 14.1 (35.8 cm) high and is easily folded down without tools before entering a car was or parking garage. Antennas are frequency tuned at the factory, providing optimum performance without field tuning.

The injection molded flexible foot measures 1.75 square inches (4.45 sq. cm) and readily conforms to most curved glass surfaces. No-holes installation provides long lasting holding power and is easily removed and reinstalled using Antenna Specialists' standard KAV377 kit.

The APDM927 series covers the 824-894 MHz cellular and the 1850-1990 MHz PCS frequency range with a common VSWE of <1.9:1. The antenna is vertically polarized, provides omnidirectional coverage, requires no ground plane, and handles up to 10 watts of power. It covers the complete bandwidth for both cellular and PCS.

Each antenna ships with a 15 ft. (5.2 m) PRO-FLEX™ PLUS cable and is available with a mini-UHF, TNC, or SAP male connector.
