Deep Packet Inspection Sub-System Addresses Telecom Applications
Adax (www.adax.com [1]), an industry leader in high-performance signalling and packet-processing infrastructure and Qosmos (www.qosmos.com [2]), a leading provider of Network Intelligence (NI) technology, today announced the successful integration of their products. This collaboration has resulted in a high performance, quick to market Deep Packet Inspection (DPI)sub-system ideal for telecom applications such as Policy Control and Charging (PCC), Revenue Assurance, Quality of Service and more.
Qosmos ixEngine [3] Software Development Kit has been integrated into the Adax development platform to provide customers with a fast time to market for their DPI applications. ixEngine's decoding capabilities have been optimised for the industry’s highest performance multi-core processors such as the Cavium Octeon on the Adax PacketRunner [4] and PacketAMC [5] products, which can handle huge traffic volumes at wire speed.
“Application developers tell us that they want two things: fast time to market and maximum performance for their application,” said Robin Kent, Director, European Operations, at Adax Europe. “The Adax/Qosmos partnership provides them with an integrated, application ready, DPI sub-system that maximises the performance of their application whilst saving them precious development time.”
“The increasing complexity and sheer volume in network traffic creates a vast opportunity for solution and equipment providers to leverage the advanced DPI and metadata extraction capabilities that are enabled by the joint Adax/Qosmos offering,” said Thibaut Bechetoille, CEO of Qosmos. “By deploying our joint technology within their applications, our customers will be able to deliver solutions based on complete, real-time visibility into network traffic, enabling application-level insight into policy and traffic management solutions, charging, Quality of Service (QoS), subscriber analytics and more.”
