Software Develops or Integrates into Video and Display Systems

Lattice Semiconductor’s EasyLCD FPGA-based video and imaging software develops video and display systems, or integrates into OEM video and display applications. The platform’s FPGA-based video controller supports LatticeECP2™ FPGAs with densities from 12 to 50 K LUTs in package sizes up to 484-ball fpBGA. Each evaluation board includes 64 MB DDRAM video memory and a 16 bpp LCD video controller configurable for resolutions from QVGA to HD in 4:3 and 16:9 formats. The system supports 2 PAL/NTSC composite video inputs and 1 analog VGA input, and each software-selectable video input supplies a digital video stream to the FPGA for real-time manipulation and display on the LCD screen. The software offers a 2-D graphics accelerator, a I²C interface for plug-and-play connectivity, a backlight inverter for ON/OFF and dimming control, a 4-wire analog resistive touch screen input with SRAM and Flash memory expansion and a USB 2.0 interface operating at 480 Mbps.
