Quarter-Brick, DC/DC converters

Cherokee International LLC announced the Apollo series of single-output, 30-amp, quarter-brick, DC/DC converters. These point-of-load converters are ideal for telecom, datacom, automatic-test and semiconductor-fabrication equipment requiring high current, low voltage and fast transient-response times. The Apollo product family is available in base-plate and open-frame versions with 1.2 V, 1.5 V, 1.8 V, 2.5 V and 3.3 V outputs.

Addressing an industry need for DC/DC converters that perform efficiently at realistic ambient conditions up to 50 C, the Apollo series boasts a distinctive thermal-management strategy and a high-efficiency level of 90.5 percent at 3.3 V. Additionally, the open-frame converters have a 0.411-inch profile and support the tight, 0.6-inch card-pitch telecom requirements. The base-plate versions are ideal for wireless base stations deployed in uncontrolled ambient environments.
