STAX connectors are composed of alternating layers of conductive and non-conductive silicone rubber, which make redundant surface-to-surface contact when deflected between mated surfaces. The STAX LD series was created to address the increasing demands of mobile electronic products for lower resistance, tighter board pitch and lower deflection forces. STAX LD connectors have a typical resistance of 0.035 milliohms per connection with circuit pads of 0.5 mm width on 1.0 mm pitch at a typical board spacing of 2.5 mm. Resistance is stable through extended life tests including thermal cycling with humidity and mixed flowing gases. The new connectors exhibit a 15 - 20 percent reduction in deflection force compared to previous-generation STAX products.
