Anaren Microwave announced the introduction of its surface mount, Xinger®-brand quadrifilar helix feed network ("quadfeed") component for satellite radio receivers. Developed in cooperation with engineers at Washington D.C.-based XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc., the miniature 2.320-2.345 GHz quadfeed part number XQF1306 combines four signals from a quadrifilar helix antenna into one coherent output signal for amplification to the radio receiver. The new Xinger® quadfeed is designed to be compatible with both the XM and the Sirius Satellite Radio networks, as the two companies have agreed to operate on a single standard in next generation systems.
Frequency is 2.32 - 2.345 GHz, and insertion loss is 0.35 dB max. /0.30 dB typical. Return Loss is 15 dB min./ 20 dB typ., while amplitude balance is ± 0.25 dB max./ ± 0.10 dB typ. Phase balance is ± 5 degrees max. (± 2 degrees typ.).
