Low Phase Jitter and Phase Noise High Frequency VCXO
The new VFT5 oscillator is based on a low noise crystal oscillator which is paired with a analog circuit. The oscillator uses VF's high frequency fundamental crystal. This approach allows one to achieve superior frequency stability over temperature (typically ± 20 ppm over industrial range). The design allows for the suppression of subharmonics better than 50 dB, which results in less than 1 ps RMS cycle-to-cycle Phase Jitter.
VFT5 features output frequencies from 500 MHz to 1000 MHz and Phase Jitter less than 1 ps RMS in the 100 Hz to 80 MHz range. Other VFT5 characteristics include ECLiPS compatible logic, complementary outputs, enable/disable feature, and 3.3 V or 5 V operation.
The new VFT5 VCXO is available in a 9 × 14 × 6 mm SMD package. It is ideal for clock smoothing, frequency translations, clock and data re-timing applications.
