Converters for Digital Cellular Applications
The MD59-0043 and MD59-0049 downconverters integrate a low-noise amplifier, RF amplifier, mixer, IF amplifier, LO buffer and various control functions in miniature 4 mm FQFP-N plastic packages. The resulting benefits to the radio designer include higher linearity, wider dynamic range and lower power consumption. The MD59-0043 is particularly useful as an ultra-low current downconverter for cellular band CDMA handsets and other battery-operated RF systems; whereas the MD59-0049 low-current downconverter is specified for PCS band RF systems.
The PCS and cellular upconverters (MD59-0062 and MD59-0054) feature an on-chip driver for highly linear output power and 4-mm FQFP-N plastic packaging for ultra-low profile applications. The MD59-0054, for example, is capable of producing 4 dBm of linear output power with an associated ACPR of -56 dBc. The MD59-0062, which operates in U.S. and Korean PCS bands, also features a low-current mode for additional power savings.
