Z-Communications announces the CLV0925E geared for demanding portable data terminal applications. This low cost VCO generates frequencies between 896 - 959 MHz within a control voltage range of 0.3 - 4.7 V DC making it ideal for quick integration into PLLs where the error voltage can be taken directly from the IC's charge pump circuitry. In addition, the CLV0925E optimizes any portable radio system by exhibiting a specral signal of 114 dBc/Hz, typically, at 10 kHz offset while conserving energy. This innovative VCO draws 12 mA, typically, while operating from a 5 V DC source.
The high performance CLV0925E suppresses the 2nd harmonic to better than 24 dBc and provides a nominal output power level of 5 ± 2 dBm into a 50 Ω load while operating over the extended commercial temperature range of 30 to 85°C. Moreover, this VCO's average linear tuning sensitivity of 22 MHz/V dramatically eases any PLL designers task. The CLV0925E is further enhanced by pushing less than 3 MHz/V within a 5% change of the supply voltage and pulling less than 3 MHz with a 14 dB return loss, any phase.
