Wireless solutions provider debuts unique self-contained Wi-Fi hotspot for use at temporary venues, and plug-and-play outdoor enclosure systems for indoor access points

Las Vegas and Hunt Valley, MD  – Ventev Wireless Infrastructure will unveil turnkey systems to help companies and institutions  “take Wi-Fi outside,” extending data networks outdoors in the most intelligent and cost-efficient way, at CTIA 2013 in Las Vegas, May 21-23, 2013. The products include a self-contained portable hotspot for temporary venues, and cost-efficient outdoor enclosure systems for indoor access points including the first integrated, single-input Powered-over-Ethernet (PoE) enclosure system completely independent of AC power.

Increasingly users require Wi-Fi networks to be set up quickly to accommodate temporary needs such as sporting events, disaster relief or mission-critical applications.  Ventev Wireless Infrastructure is a leader in “taking Wi-Fi outside,” creating temporary Wi-Fi venue solutions at major sporting events and international happenings such as the British Royal Wedding.

The company’s new ruggedized hotspot is a unique self-contained enclosure system designed to accommodate popular network switches and up to four Wi-Fi Access Points. The hotspot is designed to enable rapid deployment, can be customized for any brand of access point, and supports large numbers of users. The compact system is turnkey when delivered to a venue and portable for shipping between venues. The 24” x 24” x 10” polycarbonate enclosure features PoE surge suppression and coaxial cable lightning protection. Connections for external antennas are simple for fast deployment.

Ventev Wireless Infrastructure also will debut at CTIA highly cost-efficient outdoor enclosure systems for indoor access points. With the use of smartphones and tablets growing exponentially, the demand for wireless coverage anywhere, anytime is increasing. As a result, companies are opting to extend coverage by deploying less costly indoor-rated access points in their outdoor environments. Ventev Wireless Infrastructure has engineered solutions that enable networks to be built out in this way – quickly, safely, and cost-effectively – using popular access points from Cisco, Aruba and more.

Ventev Wireless Infrastructure’s fully integrated outdoor enclosure system portfolio includes four models: the PoE Only System (the smallest and most innovative solely Powered-over-Ethernet), the Non-Powered System (a cost-effective enclosure with integrated grounding where heating and cooling are not necessary), the PoE & AC System (a heated and cooled solution perfect for sites where AC already exists), and the UPS System (for critical applications where system uptime is required during power outages).

The PoE Only System is the industry’s first fully integrated outdoor enclosure solution with single PoE-only input – it is completely independent of traditional AC power. It allows an access point from Cisco or Aruba to be positioned in virtually any outdoor environment. The savings in installation time and cost is substantial since the PoE Only System can be deployed where there is no AC power. With heating and cooling capability built into the system, companies can deploy networks even where temperature variations exist.

“The products we are featuring at CTIA are important innovations that make taking Wi-Fi outside much easier and more cost-effective,” said Jeff Lime, Vice President, Ventev Wireless Infrastructure. “These
