Avago and Corning Collaborate on Optical Connectivity Solutions

San Jose, CA and Singapore – Avago Technologies [Nasdaq:AVGO] and Corning Incorporated [NYSE:GLW] have announced collaboration on new optical cabling connectivity solutions.

Avago Technologies, a world's leading provider of fiber optic components, has developed a series of pluggable transceivers and Atlas optical engines at 40G/100G and beyond, ideally suited for the Ethernet, Storage, and high performance computing applications.

Enabled by Corning(R) ClearCurve(R) OM4 optical fiber and by Corning's Pretium EDGE(R) Solutions, Corning Incorporated has developed a new high-bandwidth optical solution that is ideally suited to applications at 40G/100G and beyond.

Together, Avago and Corning will provide and promote new optical connectivity solutions targeting next-generation networks and data centers.

Avago will be showcasing a private demo of its new single-mode and multimode optics transceivers and embedded optics at 40G/100G and beyond using innovative optical connectivity solutions from Corning.
