SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Spirent Communications plc, the global leader in Ethernet networks, device and services testing, today announced its continued collaboration with EANTC for interoperability testing of MPLS and Ethernet networks. Spirent’s solutions were used to validate carrier-grade Ethernet and MPLS Transport Profile (MPLS-TP) solutions across backhaul, transport and access networks in a multi-vendor environment. The interoperability event was showcased at the MPLS Ethernet World Congress 2011 in Paris.

“At the MPLS and Ethernet World Congress in Paris, EANTC focused on testing latest innovations in MPLS-TP, Mobile Backhaul and Carrier Ethernet OAM,” said Carsten Rossenhoevel, managing director of EANTC. “Spirent has supported and actively participated in our interoperability events consistently. This time, Spirent's latest generation of test solutions enabled the validation of more than 40 packet transport and mobile backhaul implementations.”

Spirent used Spirent TestCenter™, the award winning integrated layer 2-7 test system, along with the Spirent xGEM in the interoperability test. Together, the solutions supported several key test cases including MPLS-TP Protection Switching, Clock Synchronization, and the generation of video traffic. Spirent TestCenter is the most flexible, scalable and reliable test system in the industry for testing highly-integrated, converged, MPLS networks of today and tomorrow.
