Tue, 02/08/2011 - 8:48am
Texas Advanced Optoelectronic Solutions®, Inc. (TAOS) recently announced that the company will be participating in the Mobile World Congress 2011, the mobile industry’s prestigious exhibition and conference which will be held February 14-17, 2011 in Barcelona, Spain. TAOS will showcase technology demonstrations and mobile end-products implementing TAOS current and next generation ambient light and proximity detection sensor solutions in its on-site Meeting Room in Hall 3.1, Space 118. TAOS is inviting customers, ecosystem partners and registered media representatives to meet with its management team for briefings on soon-to-be-announced TAOS devices and to view technology and mobile end-product demos.

For more than a decade, TAOS, Inc. has pioneered and perfected the use of digital ambient light sensors (ALS) to automatically adjust display brightness while simultaneously reducing overall system power consumption and improving display quality in a broad range of consumer electronic products including mobile phones, tablets, notebooks, portable MP3/DVD players, handheld game consoles and HDTVs.

The TAOS proximity detection solutions are ideally suited for touch screen smartphones to automatically turn off the display or control other user functions and can also be used in laptops, desktop computers and monitors to conserve energy or maintain information privacy when the user is not present. The rapid adoption of ALS and proximity detection sensors has led to higher levels of integration including the single package ALS and proximity detection sensor solutions from TAOS, Inc.
