Get Smart About Transportation and Energy at CTIA ENTERPRISE & APPLICATIONS™ 2010

As wireless technology continues to drive innovation in transportation and energy—from connected cars to location-based services, fleet management and smart grids—attendees at CTIA ENTERPRISE & APPLICATIONS™ 2010 will see a range of products and hear from industry insiders directly involved in revolutionizing those markets.

CTIA ENTERPRISE & APPLICATIONS will take place in San Francisco at Moscone Center West October 6-8, 2010; partner events will begin on October 5.

The keynote stage at CTIA ENTERPRISE AND APPLICATIONS will feature a range of speakers who will address the impact of wireless on the transportation and energy sectors:

  * On October 6, Dr. Kristina Johnson, under secretary at the U.S. Department of Energy, will discuss smart intelligent energy initiatives, from smart grid to energy-efficient vehicles;

* The CIO roundtable keynote session on October 7 will include John Dick, senior vice president and CIO at Western Union and Jackie Woods, systems manager at UPS, who will address fleet management along with other mobile enterprise topics; and

CTIA’s Educational Sessions on October 7-8 will also explore intelligent transportation across a range of sessions, including: Carrier Perspectives on Telematics; Fleet Management & Transit Efficiency; Field Service; Geo-Tagging & Geo-Coding; and Smart Vehicles. CTIA is hosting four partner events that will explore the issues of intelligent transportation and smart energy:

* On October 5 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, “GPS-Wireless 2010” will bring top executives together to discuss challenges and success stories in the location-based services ecosystem and what it takes to compete;

* On October 6 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, Accenture will host “Enabling Smart Energy Initiatives through Wireless Infrastructure and Distributed Computing,” an interactive session discussing smart grid technology and the impact of mobile on adoption;

  * On October 7 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, “M2M Connected Devices” will review the latest technologies and market opportunities for network-aware devices and the service delivery platforms that enable auto and fleet, energy, and telehealth innovations; and

  * On October 8 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, “WCA Presents: What’s Hot About LBS?,” will focus on the game-changing capacity of location-based services, now and well into the future.

Smart energy and transportation solutions will also figure prominently on the CTIA ENTERPRISE & APPLICATIONS show floor, particularly in the M2M Zone pavilion. Wireless transportation devices and applications for the “road warrior” and “globetrotter” will also be on display in the CTIA 2010 Hot for the Holidays Awards Showcase, located on Level 2 of the convention center.
