Introduction Wireless radio transmitters have evolved over the years from real IF (intermediate frequency) transmitters, to complex IF transmitters, to zero-IF transmitters. However, there are still limitations associated with these commonly used architectures. A newer approach, a direct RF radio transmitter, can overcome the limitations of traditional transmitters.
Traditional control systems used to monitor and automate industrial field equipment provide very specific functions. These systems generally control local equipment functions, like process control, and allow one-way data communication of data from the industrial product to a business application typically used by a few individuals working within a single department.
Controls to open doors in your facility may include: • tactile “paddle” switches (with the symbol of a wheelchair or the word “EXIT”) that people hit or punch • identification card readers combined with tactile switches • tactile keypads • card readers or key pads paired with fingerprint or retinal scanners What problems have you experienced with tactile components of these controls? The fact is tactile switches and key pads with moving, mechanical parts are prone to failure under moderate to heavy use or abuse – busy, impatient people simply damage or destroy them.
Today, we have grown accustomed to consuming HD content in most aspects of our lives. eCall is a European emergency call system that will combine GSM and GPS technologies to support automated vehicle emergency services throughout the European Union. Its goal is to provide rapid assistance to motorists involved in a collision anywhere in the EU. The system is officially defined as a “Pan-European automatic in-vehicle emergency call system”.
People like to see a lifebelt by the local river even though they may never use it. They certainly do not want to pay for one though. It is like that with the fast charging of cars. We all want to charge our electric car in the blink of an eye. Indeed, we may be happy to pay through the nose for that electricity when we are far away if the only alternative is to walk home or at least be late for an appointment.
