Meet the Board: Edgardo Menendez – AVX Corporation
Wireless Design and Development is honored to introduce editorial advisory member, Edgardo Menendez, Field Applications Engineer at AVX.
Edgardo received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Applied Electromagnetics from Clemson University in 2011. He started work at AVX Corporation in 2012 as a Field Applications Engineer focusing on RF/Microwave, Circuit Protection and Inductor products. Since then negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistors, RF resistors, RF attenuators, RF terminators and diodes have been added to areas of expertise and support.
Work in these products is grouped into concentrations of:
- Product characterization, performance prediction and selection methods for sectors such as consumer, high reliability and test/measurement electronics.
- Secondary parameter testing such as dielectric absorpotion characterization of laminate components and communication bus EMC survivability testing.
- High frequency simulation work centers on developing test matrices for RF products ranging from capacitors, inductors and resistors to integrated passive components including couplers and diplexers. That data is then put into models accessible through the AVX website.
Other responsibilities include contract administration for the AVX Clemson ICAR collaboration, which includes topics ranging from internal EMC training as well as broad band EMI filter application testing.
Publicaton efforts at industry conferences including the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the Capacitor and Resistor Technical Symposium (CARTS).
