MMW Receivers Detect Conventional Metallic and Non-Metallic Threats



MMIC Solutions Ltd. has made available millimeter wave receivers to security imaging customers in both Europe and the USA. MMIC Solutions' technology allows the use of low cost circuit board materials and automated manufacture at 100 GHz, which provides substantial savings in cost and size compared to the conventional approach. The MSi200 series modules are direct detection receivers offering industry leading performance; operating from less than 80 GHz to more than 100 GHz, with excellent sensitivity (~0.7K @1 kHz video bandwidth.) The receiver modules use patented technology which is made up of a multi-layer substrate incorporating the millimeter-wave waveguide interface. They measure 18 mm x 8.5 mm x 5.5 mm, which makes them well suited for use in tightly packed receiver arrays for high-resolution imaging. MMIC Solutions also provides supporting solutions for feed-horn antennas and interface circuits.
