Elma Bustronic Corporation announces its 8-slot VXS backplane that features a Star routing topology, fitting into most 4U high horizontal mount enclosures. The VITA 41.0-specified backplane features one hub slots and seven payload slots in a 14-layer controlled-impedance stripline design. Backplane simulation confirms strong signal performance. The 6U high backplane has power studs in 3.3 V, 5 V, 12 V and GND along the top and bottom of the backplane to allow for flexible power options. VXS Star backplanes are also offered in five slots and an eight-slot with one hub, five payload and two legacy VME64x slots. Dual Star topologies include eight, 12, 18, 20 and 21 slots.
