Dual Quad-Core Processor Blade Features Increased Memory

Continuous Computing Corporation announces its FlexCompute ATCA-XE50 processor blade that enables speed, performance and energy efficiency through the Intel Xeon Processor. As an AdvancedTCA (ATCA) blade using Intel dual quad-core processors, the device provides telecom equipment manufacturers with a high performance, scalable system with enhanced memory support. The blade is available in single and dual processor configurations, offering the scalability needed for 1 GbE and 10 GbE systems requiring mid- and high-processing capabilities, respectively, as well as the flexibility and compatibility to support multiple operating systems and connectivity options. It offers an increased memory capacity of 48 GB of DDR2 synchronous dynamic random access memory (SDRAM). The device has the capability to migrate diverse operating systems and applications to virtual environments on the same hardware.
