AMIMON Inc. announces its Wireless High-Definition Interface (WHDI™) Development Kit that enables the development of wireless TVs and wireless projectors using the company’s WHDI technology to provide a universal wireless uncompressed HDTV link. This technology supports delivery of uncompressed 1080 p (with equivalent video rates of up to 3 Gb/s) in a 40 MHz channel in the 5 GHz unlicensed band in compliance with FCC regulations. Uncompressed 720 p and 1080 i (with equivalent video rates of up to 1.5 Gb/s) can be delivered in a 20 MHz channel, conforming to worldwide 5 GHz regulations. The wireless link is encrypted and the range has been demonstrated beyond 100 feet through walls. Latency is less than one millisecond. Other wireless solutions are limited to delivering compressed video such as MPEG, which is typically not available at the output of most consumer electronics video devices.
