Quarter-Brick Converters

Power-One, Inc. introduces its QMS series of -brick DC/DC converters. Three new single-output models provide 3.3 VDC at 25 A, 5 VDC at 14 A, and 12 VDC at 6.75 A. The 18 to 60 VDC input range facilitates operation from 24 V and 48 V, eliminating the need for multiple host-system circuit-pack designs and reducing the number of brick part numbers in inventory, in applications such as wireless base stations. Efficiencies exceeding 90% and advanced thermal management techniques facilitate impressive elevated-temperature performance. Additional features include 1500 VDC input-to-output isolation, basic insulation, start-up into highly capacitive loads and low conducted and radiated EMI. Interface features include remote on/off, remote output voltage sensing and industry-standard output trim.
