Light Rings Use LED Packages
OPTEK Technology’s OPA80 and OPA83 Series near-infrared light rings come in through-hole LED packages including surface mount devices with a viewing angle of 100° and 3 mm through-hole packages with viewing angles of 18° and LED quantities ranging from 10 to 24 V. The RoHS-compliant devices have a typical forward voltage of 1.350 VF, a reverse voltage per emitter reading of 2 V, a continuous forward current of 50 mA, and a peak pulse forward current of 1 A at 1% duty cycle. The rings come in sizes from 0.625 inches ID/1.250 inches OD to 1.500 inches ID/2.250 inches OD and produce center wavelengths of 850 or 880 nm. Some models come with an ambient light sensor.
