Temex announces the launch of a RF SAW filter for GPS receivers suited to marine navigation, automotive and recreational applications. One of the most critical and essential elements of GPS receiver design is filtering at the RF stage. RF filters must be capable of combining a low insertion loss and high rejection. Designed for standard GPS applications, TMX W007 offers the best insertion loss/rejection trade-offs of the market and a miniature surface-mount device (SMD) packaging to meet the needs of small form-factor GPS receivers. TMX W007 has an absolute attenuation of 40dB min. at 1710 MHz. The filter center frequency is 1575.42 MHz with a bandwidth of 2.4 MHz over a temperature range of 㫀° to 185° F (㫀° to 85° C). TMX W007 is available in a lead-free SMD .1 × .08 × .03 in. (2.5 × 2 × 0.9 mm) package. At about half the size, Temex also offers the TMX W314, which has an absolute attenuation of 35dB min. at 1710 MHz.
